Really! It’s an offer too good to be passed up. Of course, it’s Denzel appearing in the celluloid flesh! One of his movies will be the Grand Prize in this summer’s Reading Contest, in conjunction with the release of my book, Celluloid Memories.

Set in Hollywood, the book is about talented black men and women trying to make it. The contest will test your attention to details, and your memory of my story. The three top winners will be drawn at random from qualifying entries.

The contest begins on July 1, 2007, and ends on September 30th. There will be three prizes awarded:

1st Prize – MISSISSIPPI MASALA with Denzel Washington as a southern businessman who falls in love with an Indian Immigrant whose family is from Uganda. A funny, fascinating glimpse into two tightly knit communities.

2nd Prize – SOMETHING NEW with Blair Underwood, Sanaa Lathan, and Simon Baker. Lathan thought she had it all: a successful career, good friends, good family. Then she meets free-spirited Brian (Simon Baker). Then, her ideal man also appears (Underwood) and she has to decide between the relationship everyone expects and the romance no one expected.
 

3rd Prize – GUESS WHO? With Bernie Mac, Ashton Kutcher, this is a remake of the 1969 classic with Sydney Poitier, Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey about the unexpected young man, and fiancée, a daughter brings home to meet her parents.

Each prize winner will also receive a DVD called “The Bible Experience” a performance presentation of the Bible with more than 200 notable personalities such as Angela Bassett, Cuba Gooding, Jr., Bishop T.D. Jakes, and...Denzel Washington. And, a package of Microwave popcorn! There’s a lot to see, and a lot to enjoy.
